Coral’s first investment in Dublin, Republic of Ireland, took another step at the end of 2015 as our partner GSA received planning permission for a proposed student accommodation development in the heart of this historic university city.
As the demand for student housing is set to exceed 25,000 beds annually according to Irish Government figures, Dublin has become a premier student housing investment location. GSA’s plans include careful excavation of historic sites in the Mill Street and Warrenmount Lane districts from where artefacts found in the construction process will be removed and displayed in local museums and public areas. The centrepiece of the project will be an 18th century townhouse which will be restored as part of the development work.
Research has shown that Dublin’s shortage of suitable accommodation is at extreme levels and has been described as a “perfect storm” by property management specialists. Coral is expecting the housing scheme to open its doors in September 2017.
